🎬 Creating Animated Titles in After Effects

Titles are one of the most common uses of Adobe After Effects, whether for YouTube intros, film credits, or social media videos. With just a few steps, you can design professional-looking animated text.

🔹 Step 1: Create a New Composition

  1. Open After Effects.

  2. Go to Composition > New Composition.

  3. Choose settings (1920x1080, 30fps, 10 sec duration is a good start).

  4. Name it Title Animation.

🔹 Step 2: Add Your Text

  1. Select the Type Tool (T).

  2. Click in the composition window and type your title text.

  3. Adjust the font, size, and color in the Character panel.

🔹 Step 3: Animate with Position / Scale / Opacity

  1. Expand your text layer.

  2. Click the Stopwatch beside Position, Scale, or Opacity.

  3. Move the playhead and change values (like move text from bottom to center).

  4. After Effects auto-creates keyframes for smooth animation.

🔹 Step 4: Add Easing for Smooth Motion

  • Select your keyframes → Right-click → Keyframe Assistant > Easy Ease.

  • Or press F9.
👉 This makes animations smoother and more natural.

🔹 Step 5: Use Preset Text Animations (Quick Method)

  • Go to Effects & Presets panel.

  • Search for “Text Animation Presets” (like Typewriter, Fade In, Scale Up).

  • Drag and drop onto your text layer.

  • Customize speed & style in the timeline.

🔹 Step 6: Add Motion Blur (Optional for Realism)

  • Enable the Motion Blur switch (three overlapping circles) on your text layer.

  • Toggle Motion Blur ON in the timeline.
✨ This gives fast movements a realistic blur effect.

🔹 Step 7: Export Your Animated Title

  1. Go to File > Export > Add to Render Queue (or use Media Encoder).

  2. Choose H.264 (MP4) format for web/video use.

  3. Hit Render.

🚀 Pro Tips

  • Use Shape Layers or Background Solids to make your text stand out.

  • Add glow, shadow, or gradient effects for a cinematic look.

  • Combine multiple animations (e.g., fade + slide + scale) for unique results.
